Maçahel

Maçahel, 18 köyü kapsayan bir bölgenin adıdır. Bu köylerden 12si Gürcistan topraklarının bir parçasıyken, 6sı ülkemiz sınırları içerisinde bulunmaktadır. Karçal Dağları ile Gürcistan arasında sıkışmış bir vadiden ibaret olan Maçahel, dünyada nesli tükenen birçok bitki ve hayvan türünü barındırması nedeniyle UNESCO tarafından Biyolojik Rezerv Alanı ilan edilmiştir. Bu kitap, Maçahel halkı ve bu halkın yaşadığı coğrafyayı fotoğraflarla belgeleyerek tanıtmayı amaçlamaktadır. Maçahel is the name of a region which comprises eighteen villages. While twelve of these villages are within the territory of Georgia, six of them are within the borders of Turkish Republic.Squeezed into a valley between Karçal Mountains and Georgia, Maçahel harbors a lot of endangered animal and plant species and because of this it is declared by UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Area under Protection.This books aim is to document and introduce the people of Maçahel and the geography this people live in by way of photographs.
